The Switch Mouse is an innovative mousing solution that boosts comfort and reduces the risk of injury. This ground breaking peripheral device integrates two major innovations; a V-shaped base, which puts the wrist and forearm into a natural pronation for left or right-handed users, and size adjustability to provide a perfect fit for any computer user. Other features include a built-in palm support to prevent contact stress on the wrist, four-way scrolling dish to minimize repetitive motion, and programmable buttons for user-specified functions. All of this adds up to the most customizable and ergonomic mouse ever created.
V-shaped base positions wrist and arm at a natural angle
Navigation dish provides one-touch four-direction scrolling to help prevent repetitive stress injury
Adjustable length ensures proper fit for most users
Integrated palm support eliminates contact stress and keeps wrist straight to reduce risk of carpal tunnel syndrome
Symmetric shape accommodates left- or right-handed use
Encourages the use of large arm and shoulder muscles, allowing delicate hand and wrist muscles to relax
Two standard buttons on the top of the mouse, plus three programmable buttons for user-specified functions: one on each side plus the clickable scrolling dish
Compatible with Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Mac OS 9 (plug and play only) Mac OX X, version 10.42 or later (plug and play only)

Great ergonomic mouse Jul 27, 2010 This mouse allows for the hand to be at a 45degree angle. It also prevents anchoring of your wrist to the desk with its wrist support. Therefore you have to use your shoulder and elbow to move the mouse. The mouse's extender allows you to extend your hand and not have to bunch up your hand. Overall a wonderful product. I also have an Evoluent and that is great as well. Good bye wrist pain.

I love my Switch Mouse! Feb 20, 2010 The first ergonomic mouse I tried was the vertical mouse, but that one didn't work for me because I have a small hand, but also I didn't like my thumb on the opposite side of the mouse from my four fingers because I tended to grip the mouse when I moved it. I sold that one to a friend, then I purchased the Humanscale Switch Mouse for $75 on eBay (new).
What I love most about this mouse is that my whole hand can lie comfortably on the mouse without having to place my thumb on the other side of the mouse. I also love that there is wrist support that travels with the mouse. I also love that it is convertible for the left or right hand by changing the little stand on the bottom (since I can use either hand for mousing). It moves very smoothly. I also love the scroll button instead of a scroll wheel--just holding a button down saves me a lot of agony. I love that the size is adjustable. I guess I love a lot of things about this mouse . . but what I love the very very most is that finally I can work at the computer without pain in my arm. It took me about a day to get used to this mouse and I was sore the first day because I was trying to figure out the best way to use it for me (primary click on left or right button.) By the second day, I couldn't believe how much better I felt at the keyboard. My particular problem is mostly neck, shoulder and arm pain. Finally some relief!
Oh, one more thing. I didn't really need to download it to use the mouse, but I wanted to download the . . .oh crum . . . what's it called--the icon that gives you mouse settings, from the Humanscale website. Anyhow, being a tad inexperienced with downloading things, I tried to download it from the website, but couldn't figure out how. I called the Humanscale customer support line number in the brochure that came with the mouse: free call, a human answered, no wait. The guy was very nice and walked me through it. I couldn't believe it was so simple once he told me what to do. Thanks, Humanscale, for everything!

Works much faster than my old mouse. Jan 28, 2010 I've seen a vast improvement in being able to navigate between pages and around the internet with the Switch Mouse. It does take some getting used to at first, but once you get the hang of it, this mouse will definitely be a step up from your old one. The tilted sides do seem to help with carpal tunnel symptoms, and I had no problem adjusting the mouse to fit my hand. So far, no complaints.
